This 1966 Toyota Bandeirante (comparable to the LandCruiser FJ43) is a left-hand drive traditional body on frame jeep (long model) assembled in Brazil and powered with a 3.8L Mercedes-Benz diesel inline-four mated to a five-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer box.
The truck was acquired by the seller in April 2022, who restored it from scratch.
Before beginning the restoration process, the vehicle was inspected to ensure the integrity of its chassis, as well as its wheels alignment.
The vehicle had the body removed from the frame and underwent to a full cosmetic and mechanical overhaul, including:
- complete restoration of the body. It was used 1,55 mm galvanized steel sheets to restore every necessary part of the body. For the spars it was used 2mm galvanized steel sheets.
- Replacement of the floor with a later model unit
- ?The chassis was blasted, treated, and painted with specific products to protect it.
- The body was repainted in olive green
- Relocation of the fuel tank and battery
- Gray leather interior upholstery
- Installation of a new wiring harness,
- Overhauling the powertrain
- The vehicle was reassembled with stainless steel screws and all the sealing rubbers were replaced.
- A roll bar and running boards were manufactured for the vehicle.
- ?New carpet and upholstery was made with high quality material.
